Portland Rossini Club Gala Concert with Champagne Reception, A Celebration of 150 years
The Public Concert Series of the Portland Rossini Club
150th Season Concert
Sunday, August 15th, 2021 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.
We are pleased to announce that the Rossini Club, founded by women 150 years ago, can finally celebrate our sesquicentennial (150th) with music, cake, champagne and without masks or social distancing! Music followed by a walk through the garden of Sydney and Bill Patten for the champagne reception.
- Violinists, Eleanor Lehmann and Betsy Hooper, violist Susanna Adams, and cellists John Bennett and Kathy Anderson will play the Allegro movement from Franz Schubert’s Quintet in C Major
- Guests Jennifer Packard and Iona Hagl will perform folk music
- Maine Blend will sing standards, 50’s pop, and Beatles
- Soprano Torrey Gimpel will perform Bel Raggio Lusinghier from Semiramide by Gioachino Antonio Rossini
Date: Sunday, August 15th (rain date, August 16th)
Time: 2:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.
Parking: Beginning at 1 p.m., parking is available in the lot behind Holy Martyrs Church, 266 Foreside Road, Falmouth. The concert site is a 5 minute walk along Foreside Road to Sydney’s and Bill’s.

Tickets: Reservations are recommended and requested so that we may insure sufficient cake and champagne is available for all.
Tickets are $15 for General Admission. They are available online by registering and paying thru PayPal (check the General Admission Ticket box at the bottom of this page).
Tickets are also available the day of the event at the entrance to 221 Foreside Road, but if you do know you will be attending, please register ahead of time so that we may calculate attendance.
Rossini Club members and students are free, please register below selecting your appropriate category, even for free categories. Thank you.
Bring your own chair to sit on the lawn by the ocean (hopefully with ocean breezes). We recommend a hat and/or parasol as well and a bottle of water. There will be piano music on an old player piano by Scott Joplin, a trio and more. After the concert, we will walk back to the Patten’s to celebrate with birthday cake and champagne.
We’ve waited a long time for this moment, but what could be better than live music, an ocean view, cake, champagne and being with people without masks?!
